  • 1 bag split peas, mixed color and dry
  • 1 large hambone
  • 2 C. ham, chopped
  • 1/4 C. fresh carrots
  • 1/4 C. minced raw potato (Russet works)
  • 4 C. water
  • 1 can vegetable broth
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sm. can sweet peas
  • 1/2 C. rice, uncooked
  • grated Parmesan, for garnish

Empty all of the ingredients except for the cheese, into the slow-cooker and cook for 6-8 hours. Garnish with any extra grated cheese or diced ham.
