This is a fun dinner to make before going trick or treating on Halloween night! Be warned though, it may gross you out! But the kids love it!

Time needed

5 min preparation + 10 min cooking

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes instant macaroni and cheese (powder cheese kind works best)
  • 1 pkg. hot dogs
  • green food coloring

Directions

Slice hot dogs into quarters. Fill pot with water according to directions on macaroni and cheese box. Add green food coloring (if using the normal small bottle that comes with three other colors you will use about half the bottle). When water is at a rolling boil, add noodles AND hot dogs. Let cook for about 10 minutes or according to package directions. Drain. Add cheese powder or sauce and stir everything together (I used the powder kind for more of an effect). Serve on plates.

  • For the novice cook, you might want to change the Directions a bit. When slicing the hot dogs in quarters, add "slice hot dogs in quarters LENGTHWISE". When mixing in the cheese ingredients into the mac, it is easier to REMOVE the hot dogs first, adding them back in when mac is mixed thoroughly. Just a thought!
