  • 1 (16 oz.) bag dried pinto beans
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 lb. smoked turkey sausage, cut into pieces
  • 6-8 C. water

Put the dried beans in the bottom of a large crockpot and remove any rocks or hulls. Add the onion and smoked sausage. Sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Slowly add the water until the beans are covered by 1/2-in. water. Cover and cook on low for 51/2 hours.
