Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 C. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 C. packed brown sugar
  • 1 C. butter, room temperature
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 Tbs. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch pan. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and set aside.

  3. In large bowl, beat together butter and brown sugar for 3-5 minutes.

  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla, and beat until smooth.

  5. Stir in the flour mixture until well blended. Spread in pan.

  6. Combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.

  7. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the batter.

  8. Bake 25-30 minutes or until surface springs back when gently pressed.

  9. Cool before cutting.
