Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ C. flour
  • ¾ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¾ C. butter, softened
  • 1 C. white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 T. water
  • ¼ C. molasses
  • 4 T. white sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together the ginger, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves. In a separate bowl, mix the butter and sugar. Add in the egg, water and molasses. Combine both mixtures. Shape the dough into balls. Place them 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Let them cook for 20 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
