Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 C. thick sour cream
- 1 1/2 C. sugar
- 2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1/4 C. hot water
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 C. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 egg whites, stiff-beaten
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat egg yolks with cream. Gradually add sugar and beat until thick. Melt chocolate in hot water over low heat. Cool. Add to first mixture with vanilla. Add sifted, dry ingredients. Fold in egg whites. Bake in wax-paper-lined 9x13-inch pan in oven for 45-50 minutes.
