  • 1 lb. spaghetti
  • 1/4 C. olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 C. fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 C. fresh tomatoes, skinned and seeded and chopped
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano

Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook onion until tender. Add ground beef and garlic and mix well. Brown ground beef slowly and make sure that beef is broken into fine pieces rather than large chunks. Pour ground beef, onions, and garlic into a stockpot and add mushrooms, tomatoes, bouillon, marjoram, basil and oregano and simmer over low heat for about 1 hour. Cook spaghetti according to pkg. instructions. Add fresh basil to sauce and serve over hot spaghetti.
