It may seem weird at first, but using a spaghetti in a pie crust/flan is so yummy!

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 1/4 lb. spaghetti, broken into short lengths
  • 1/4 C. tomato sauce
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a flan dish with the crust, prick the base with a form and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. When cooked, remove and reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees. Cook the spaghetti in boiling, salted water until tender, then drain and mix with the tomato sauce. Chop 3 of the bacon slices. Fry the chopped bacon and the onion gently in the butter for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and mix the spaghetti in tomato sauce, the beaten eggs and the seasoning. Pour the mixture into the flan crust. Cut the remaining slice of the bacon into strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the top of the flan. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
