What can be more classic than fresh pasta and meatballs? Create a delicious homemade dish for dinner that is Lady and the Tramp worthy!

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • ½ lb. ground Italian sausage
  • ½ lb. ground pork
  • 1 C. Italian style bread crumbs
  • 4 slices of fresh white bread, broken up to make fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ C. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp. parsley
  • ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. spaghetti
  • 2 jars of spaghetti sauce

Fill a large pot with water and add a pinch of salt
Boil the water, then add the spaghetti
Allow to cook for about 8 minutes or until the pasta is tender
Remove from the heat and drain the pasta
Pour some extra virgin olive oil over the spaghetti to prevent it from sticking and set it aside
Combine all of the remaining ingredients, except the spaghetti sauce and Parmesan cheese, in a large mixing bowl
Form the meat into 2 inch balls (ou should have between 14 and 16 meatballs)
In a large skillet, pour extra virgin olive oil so that it covers the bottom
Heat the oil on medium heat and add the meatballs
Allow them to cook until the meatballs become brown on the outside
You may need to do this in several batches before you have browned all of them
In a large sauce pan, heat the spaghetti sauce
Add the meatballs to the heated sauce
Cook covered on low heat for about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through
You can mix the sauce with the pasta or pour the sauce over the served pasta
Top each dish with a bit of Parmesan cheese
