Spicy Lamb Shanks

Ingredients
- 4 lamb shanks
- salt
- pepper
- flour
- 1 C. water
- 1 C. cooked prunes
- 1 C. dried apricots, cooked
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 3 Tbs. vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Season meat with salt and pepper. Dredge with flour and place in greased baking dish. Cover and bake in oven until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
Combine remaining ingredients, heat to boiling and simmer about 5 minutes. Drain most of fat from cooked shanks and add fruit mixture to meat. Cover dish and bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.
