Ingredients

  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 small potatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 C. fennel, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 can tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (16-oz.) can chicken broth
  • 1 Tbs. chili pepper flakes
  • 1 lb. pollock fillet
  • 1/2 lb. raw shrimp, deveined and shelled

Directions

Sauté onions, garlic, celery, potatoes, carrots and fennel in olive oil for about 5 to 6 minutes. Add tomatoes, paste, salt, pepper and broth. Bring to boil. Lower to simmer. Cook for 35 to 40 min. When potatoes are just tender, add shrimp, scallops and pollack, breaking the fish into chunks as it cooks. Simmer for 5 to 8 minutes or until shrimp and scallops are cooked.
