Spinach New Orleans

This creamy and crunchy dish has been a favorite in my family for many years. It also makes a great "company" dish when they come for dinner!

  • 3 pkg. chopped, frozen spinach
  • 1 8-oz. pkg. softened cream cheese
  • 2 Tbs. chopped onion
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 C. dry stuffing mix or croutons
  • 4 Tbs. melted butter, divided
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mix cooked and drained spinach with cream cheese, onion, half of melted butter and spices. Pour in to lightly greased 2-qt. casserole dish. Cover with stuffing mix or croutons. Pour remaining butter over the stuffing mix. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
