Spinach-Strawberry Salad

Looks great and tastes good also. I first tasted this in Michigan several years ago and have used it ever since. The dressing makes enough for 2 salads or store in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. fresh tender Spinach
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 oz. thinly sliced toasted almonds
  • Dressing:
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. poppy seeds
  • 2 Tbs. sesame seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp. minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 C. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 C. vegetable oil

Directions

Wash and dry spinach. Layer it with the strawberries in a clear glass bowl. Blend or whisk the dressing ingredients together. Add oil at slow speed on the blender. Blend until thick. Drizzle on the salad and add the almonds for garnish.
