  • 2.5 c. of split peas
  • 8 c. of water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 ham bone
  • 1 tsp of salt

Boil split peas in salted water with onion, celery and carrot. Simmer over medium heat for about 1 hour. Add ham to the soup, stir , and cook for another 15 minutes. Serve.
