  • 1 cup Irish beer
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 10. 4 tbsps Irish cream liqueur 1/3 cup heavy cream

Preheat your oven to 350˚ F. Place the 9 inch cake pans with butter paper. In a saucepan, pour the beer, add butter, and bring to simmer. Remove the pan and whisk the cocoa powder until the mixture gets smooth. Let the mixture cool. In a small bowl, beat the eggs and cream together until smooth. Add the stout mixture into the bowl to get a thick liquid. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, sugar and salt. Pour the stout mixture into this and transfer the mixture into a pan. Bake the cake for about 30 minutes.

For frosting, combine the confectioners' sugar with Irish cream liqueur and butter. Spread the frosting on top of the cake.
