  • Steaks:
  • 1 lb. steaks
  • 1/2 C. onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbs. vegetable oil
  • Mushroom Gravy:
  • 2 Tbs. butter
  • 2 C. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 1/4 C. dry white wine
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • Fries:
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tsp. oil
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt

Mix all steak ingredients except for oil in a large bowl. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add steaks and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side.

For gravy, melt butter in large skillet over medium high heat then add mushrooms and shallot. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes or until mushrooms are golden. Stir constantly. Add flour and cook for 1 minute. Add wine, reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered for 6 to 7 minutes. Spoon gravy over steaks.

Preheat oven at 400 degrees F. To prepare fries, toss all ingredients in a large bowl and coat fries well. Place potatoes on greased baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Shake pan midway to ensure fries are browning. Serve fries with steak.
