The sticky chicken wings are an Asian inspired dish. This recipe swaps out the sesame seed for Sriracha sauce to add more of a zesty hot zing to these wings.

  • 3 lb. chicken wings
  • 2 Tbs. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbs. cilantro leaves, chopped
  • Sauce:
  • 1/3 C. soy sauce
  • 1/3 C. balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 C. brown sugar
  • ¼ C. honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. sriracha sauce, can add more to taste
  • 1 tsp. ginger powder
  • 1 tsp. ground pepper
  • ½ tsp. onion powder

In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, balsamic, vinegar, brown sugar, honey, garlic, sriracha sauce, ginger powder, pepper and onion powder. Place wings into crock pot. Stir in soy sauce mixture and gently toss to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 3-4 hours or high for 1-2 hours. In a small bowl whisk together cornstarch and 2 Tbs. water. Stir mixture into slow cooker. Cover and cook on high heat for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened. Preheat oven to broil and line a baking sheet with foil. Place wings on baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes or until caramelized. Remove and serve with extra sauce and sprinkled with cilantro leaves.
