A classic fruit combination combined with pineapple and nuts in a gelatin treat.

  • 6 oz. package strawberry gelatin powder
  • 1 C. boiling water
  • 2 packages (10 oz. each) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, partially thawed
  • 20 oz. can crushed pineapple -- undrained
  • 1 C. (3 medium) firm banana, mashed
  • 1/2 to 3/4 C. chopped walnuts
  • 2 C. (16 oz.) sour cream
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in water. Stir in strawberries, pineapple, bananas and nuts. Pour half of the mixture into a 13x9x2" dish. Refrigerate for one hour or until set. Set the remaining gelatin mixture aside. Combine the sour cream, sugar and vanilla; mix well. Spread over the chilled gelatin. Spoon remaining gelatin mixture over top. Chill overnight. 12 to 15 servings.
