  • 2 ¼ cups flour, sifted
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cup fresh crushed strawberries
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In a different bowl, combine ½ cup butter, 1 1/2 cup sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat the mixture for 2-3 minutes and then add the flour mixture gradually with 1 cup of the strawberries. Beat for 2 minutes before pouring the batter into a round pan that has been greased and floured. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. While it is baking, make the strawberry glaze by mixing together ½ cup strawberries, powdered sugar, melted butter, and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Cool the cake and top with strawberry glaze.
