  • 1 Sheet Puff Pastry, room temperature
  • 16oz Strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 ½ C Sugar

Begin this recipe for strawberry-phyllo squares by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and by preparing a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. While your oven is preheating, make your strawberry compote.

Combine the strawberries and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves and the strawberries break down. This will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Once the mixture thickens and turns into a sauce, remove it from the heat and let cool.

Finally, cut your puff pastry into approximately three-inch squares. Set each cut pastry onto your baking sheet. Score a square in the center of each of your pastries. Lightly spray each square with your cooking spray and then set in the oven to bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Once finished, spoon a generous heap of strawberry compote on top and serve immediately.
