Stroganoff Soup

This isn't a "forget about it" kind of crockpot dish, but it's still quite easy, reliably delicious and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. pkg. dry egg noodles
  • 1 1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut into small pieces
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 10 3/4 oz. cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 2/3 C. water
  • 1 16 oz. container sour cream
  • 1 tsp. steak sauce

Directions

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente; drain and rinse under hot water. In a large skillet, brown the round steak pieces with the onion to desired doneness. In a crockpot, combine the soup, 2 2/3 C. (or 2 soup cans) of water, sour cream and steak sauce. Mix until smooth. Add steak pieces, onions and noodles. Cook on low for 2 hours, or to desired taste and consistency.

Yield: 4-6 servings

  • I have made this numerous of times, however, I didnt brown the meat, I just added the meat and the cream of mushroom soup and a little of regular brown gravy and cooked on high for about 6-8 hrs. I added the sour cream when it was just about ready to be served.
