  • 4 red pepper chilis, sliced and seeded
  • 1 Tbs. shortening
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 C. rice, cooked
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • Dash of basil

Heat shortening and brown beef in skillet over medium heat. Mix meat with rice, onion, salt, pepper, basil and ketchup in bowl. Stuff red pepper chilis. Arrange stuffed chilis in crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.
