Sugar Free Beignets
Serving Size / Yield
- 1 large white egg
- A dash of salt
- 3 tbsps of sugar alternative
- 1/2 tsp of grated orange zest
- Vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup of flour
- A half cup of ricotta cheese
First, take about 2 and half inches worth of vegetable oil and put this into a pot over high heat and can maintain a consistent 350 degrees.
Then take a platter and line it.
When you've done that, take your ricotta, orange zest, salt, sugar and egg and start to mix this smooth consistency.
Now take your batter by the tablespoon and put this into your oil, allowing it to fry.
This should take no more than 2 and half minutes to reach golden brown.
Now, take cornstarch and your sugar alternative to create a confectioners sugar.
Dash this over the Beignets and serve!
