  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 12 oz. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 C. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese

Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and oregano. Stir until well incorporated. Cook until heated through. In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix well. Put a layer of meat in the bottom of the crockpot. Put two layers of uncooked noodles on top, breaking them to fit, if needed. Top them with some of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering process of meat, noodles, and cheese until all the ingredients are used. Cover, cook for 4 to 6 hours on low.
