As a full-time working mother with a very demanding job in the NYC Mayor's Office for eighteen years, I would plan wholesome but easy dinner menus for my family. One of their favorites was my Quickie-Zippy Franks and Beans, which I served with coleslaw, a sliced tomato salad and applesauce for dessert. A few years ago I made my partner, Bob, a 1950's- themed 65th birthday party at which I served fondly remembered high-school cafeteria food - fish sticks, tater tots, mac and cheese and ambrosia. But by far, the most popular dish was the Quickie-Zippy Franks and Beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Bush's baked beans
  • 4 hot dogs, cut into about 6 pieces
  • 1 Tbs. French's Classic Yellow mustard

Directions

Combine all the ingredients into a sauce pan. Heat on a medium flame until bubbling. Serve.
