  • 2 slices bread
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons divided butter
  • ¾ pound ground chuck
  • ¾ pound ground pork
  • 2 egg yolks
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Blueberry jam

Tear the bread into small pieces and place it in a bowl with the milk. Set aside the bowl of bread. Heat a tablespoon of butter in a pan and add the onion and a dash of salt. When the onions are soft, remove them from the heat. Combine the bread and milk mixture with the pork, ground chuck, egg yolks, nutmeg, and onions. Add the pepper and salt and beat for 1-2 minutes on medium speed. Shape meat into round meatballs and place on a sheet pan. Heat the remaining butter over medium heat and add the meatballs. Sauté until the meatballs are golden brown or for 10 minutes. Make sure they are browned on all sides. Warm the blueberry jam in the microwave and serve with Swedish meatballs.
