A healthier take on traditional Chinese BBQ pork buns, this is easy and very flavorful. Serve as an appetizer or part of a meal. These have been quite a hit! (Recipe by Colleen Rooney)

In non-stick skillet, add sesame oil and heat to medium-high temperature. Add ground beef, garlic, and onion, and cook about 5 minutes until well cooked. Break up meat with a spoon, so that you have a fine consistency. Stir in the chili and barbecue sauces, and cook an additional two minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray. Open crescent rolls. Taking one triangle at a time, place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. (Plan ahead for eight equal portions of mixture so that each bun is evenly filled.) Starting at one corner, fold dough over the meat mixture, then the second corner, and finally the third corner (the longest point) and wrap around the now circular bun. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining seven crescents. Spray the top of all buns with cooking spray. Bake for 15 minutes and serve.

  • Confession: I know the lady who created this recipe, so I trust everything she makes. These are REALLY good, the flavor inside is fantastic. They are also easy. My grandson devoured them as BBQ pork buns are his favorite thing at Chinese restaurants/buffets. People will see them, eat them and think they are much harder to make. My turn for appetizers in our club next week and I am bringing these!
