Making your own sorbet can be a healthy alternative to all that can be bought in the store. By making your own strawberry sorbet one can know exactly what ingredients are going into the recipe. This allows someone to make sure they are getting all that they need and leaving out all of the ingredients they do not.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 pints strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cups fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup

Bring the sugar and water to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer until the sugar is dissolved, about three minutes. Puree the strawberries and lime juice in a blender. Press through a strainer to remove the seeds. When the sugar syrup is completely cool add it to the puree. Add the corn syrup and stir well. Pour the liquid into a ice cream maker and follow instructions.
