Pulled pork sandwiches are a staple for any summer barbecue. Enjoy these sandwiches with help from the crockpot and little effort from you.

  • BBQ Sauce:
  • 28 oz. ketchup
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbs. white vinegar
  • 3/4 C. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 C. salsa
  • 3/4 C. honey
  • 1 Tbs. mustard
  • Pork:
  • 3 lb. boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbs. adobo seasoning
  • 1 C. BBQ sauce
  • water, as needed
  • pickles, topping
  • sesame seed buns

In a blender, put all the ingredients for the sauce together. Blend until completely mixed and smooth. Let it sit for at least an hour so the ingredients mix fully.

Rub the pork with the adobo seasoning and place it in the crockpot. Pour the BBQ sauce into the crockpot and add enough water to cover the bottom half of the pork. Top it with the onion and garlic. Cook for 7 hours, or until the pork is tender and starts to fall apart and then shred it in the crockpot.

Make your sandwiches with the meat and top with your homemade sauce and pickles.
