  • ¼ C. whole milk
  • ¼ C. white sugar
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 3 tbs. butter
  • ¼ oz. dry yeast
  • ¼ C. warm water
  • 2 ¼ C. flour
  • 1 cage-free egg
  • 2 tbs. butter, softened
  • ¼ C. brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ C. fresh blueberries
  • 1 tbs. butter, melted
  • 1 C. powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tbs. milk

In a small saucepan, combine ¼ C. milk, sugar, salt and 3 tbs. butter. Cook over medium-low heat until butter has completely melted. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast into warm water. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes.

Combine warm milk mixture, 1 ½ C. flour, and egg in a medium bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat ingredients until smooth. Add in remaining ¾ C. flour. Mixture should form into dough. Transfer dough to a floured work surface. Knead for 8 minutes or until smooth. Cover dough and let sit for 1 hour or until risen.

Roll out dough into a 12x8-inch rectangle. Brush 2 tbs. softened butter over rectangle. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon and then sprinkle mixture over dough. Top with blueberries. Gently roll dough into a log shape starting at a long side. Slice dough into 1-inch slices. Transfer slices to an 8-inch square baking pan with cut side down. Brush dough with 1 tbs. melted butter. Cover and let dough sit for 40 minutes to rise.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 35 minutes or fluffy and well browned. To make icing, mix powdered sugar and 2 tbs. milk in a small bowl. Pour icing over rolls and serve.
