Sweet, nice appearance, perfect if you like dark chocolate.

  • 2 boxes of dark chocolate cake mix
  • 15-20 maraschino cherries
  • 1/4 C. slivered almonds
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • Eggs (amount on back of cake mix box)
  • Oil (amount on back of cake mix box)
  • Vanilla icing
  • Coconut
  • 2 boxes of cherry Jell-O mix

In a medium size bowl, add both boxes of cake mix, eggs, Jell-O packages and oil and set aside. Grease round cake pan with Pam spray, adding just a little more than usual. Pour brown sugar into bottom of pan and sread evenly.Cut cherries in halves and place open part up to look like miniature bowls. Sprinkle almonds around the cherries. Pour cake mix into pan. Bake at temperature and time that is required on back of box.When done, take out of oven and let cool 15-20 minutes. Turn first layer upside down on cake plate. Frost with vanilla icing

Turn second layer upside down on top of first layer with the brown sugar topping on top and ice the sides only. Finish side with sprinkle with coconut.
