Saw this on a show that is all about healthy options. Don't have time in the morning to cook your oatmeal, try this. My kids loved it.

  • 1 C. old fashioned oats
  • 1 C. + 2 Tbs. reduced fat milk
  • 2 Tbs. honey
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon (or more to taste)
  • Add ins: blueberries, bananas, Craisins, almond slivers, walnuts [or any healthy items you like]

In a plastic container (with a lid), combine oats, milk, honey and cinnamon. Mix well and cover. Place in refrigerator at least 8 hours or overnight. Serve with any of the ‘add ins' (mix and match). If you want to take to work for lunch, place add ins in a separate container until ready to eat.

  • I always eat my oatmeal raw..... and I don't wait 8 hours to eat it. All I sometimes add is a touch of vanilla and a tiny pinch of salt, once in awhile a tadge of sugar. I just do not like cooked, mushy oatmeal. And sometimes I just eat it plain, nothing added, no milk, no nothing... just snack on it dry, from a bowl. Also, good with a Granny Smith crunchy apple and an orange.
