Swiss-Style Green Bean Casserole

Crushed corn flakes add a crunch to this cheesy side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 2 C. crushed corn flakes cereal
  • 1 Tbs. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 C. sour cream
  • 4 C. green beans, cooked and drained
  • 1/2 C. Swiss cheese, grated

Directions

Melt butter in a skillet. Mix 2 Tbs. with corn flakes and set aside. Add flour, pepper, and onion powder to remaining butter in skillet. Gradually add sour cream; simmer until thickened. Place green beans in a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Add sour cream mixture and stir to coat beans. Sprinkle with cheese and top with crushed cornflakes. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
