Taco Casserole

Basically this dish is already made for you, all you have to do is get the items listed and mix them all together for a dish the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 - 8 oz. pkg. mild cheese, - grated
  • 2 cans cream of Chicken soup
  • 1 - 12 oz. pkg. Nacho Flavor Doritos
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes and green chilies

Directions

Sauté hamburger until lightly browned, drain. Stir in soup and Rotel tomatoes. Heat until mixture is hot. cover bottom of a casserole dish with half of chips and meat mixture. Layer other half of chips and meat mixture. Top with cheese and bake at 350° until cheese melts.

  • I added some chopped onion and Medium Cheddar Cheese. It still needs a little more spice. We added a spoonful of mediam salsa and a little sour cream on each serving. Next time I'll add some taco seasoning while cooking the hamburger.

  • You could add packet of taco seasoning to hamburger, use tortilla chips instead of Doritos. Make it a better dish for the bigger kids.

  • I love this recipe.My husband carried this to work with him and I ended up making 10 copies of the recipe for the people he works with .It also went over really well at the super-bowl party last year.

  • Sorry, but neither my husband or myself like this casserole. I think it would have been better to use Sharp Cheddar Cheese and a little less of the Doritos. Add chopped, cooked onions and garlic would also be good.
