Taco Tequila Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope taco seasoning mix
  • 1 C. water
  • 1/4 C. tequila
  • one 3-lb. round steak, cut 1 1/2 to 2 in. thick

Directions

Combine seasoning mix, water, and tequila.  Trim excess fat from round steak; slash the fat edge at 1-inch intervals.  Place meat in large plastic bag in deep bowl.  Pour taco marinade into bag.  Seal and marinate several hours or overnight in refrigerator, turning once.  Drain, reserving marinade.  Grill steak over medium coals 3 inches from heat for a total of 30 to 35 minutes for rare doneness, turning steak with tongs frequently and basting with reserved marinade each time.  Slice across grain to serve.
