Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. center cut bacon
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • ½ C. onion, finely diced (divided)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 T. butter, unsalted
  • 1/3 C. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 C. light brown sugar
  • 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 T. lime juice
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 C. ketchup
  • 12 mini hamburger buns
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Additional preferred toppings

Directions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, ¼ cup of onion, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to divide, roll, and flatten beef into 12 small patties. Grill over a medium to high heat for about 3-5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat and put aside on a paper towel to catch any excess grease. To make sauce, in a medium skillet sauté remaining ¼ cup of onions in butter until translucent. Add in sugar and brown sugar; mix well. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, mustard, and ketchup. Remove from heat, prepare bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and any further toppings you want, and assemble!
