Ingredients

  • Salisbury Steak:
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 oz. white bread
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. thyme, chopped
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 T. butter
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • 1/8 C. milk
  • 1/8 C. heavy cream
  • 1/8 C. beef stock
  • ½ C. onion, chopped
  • Sauce:
  • 1 T. olive oil
  • 2 C. beef stock
  • ¼ C. onion, chopped
  • ¼ C. heavy cream
  • ½ tsp. thyme
  • ¼ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 oz. flour
  • 3 oz. butter
  • 8 oz. baby mushrooms, sliced

Directions

For the salisbury steak, start off by sautéing the chopped onion in the butter. Meanwhile, in a bowl mix together the remaining ingredients, expect for the olive oil. Once the onions are caramelized, add them into the bowl. Mix well. In a saucepan over medium heat, heat up the olive oil. Make the mixture into patties. Place them into the hot olive oil. Brown them on both sides and all the way through. Set them to the side. For the sauce, sauté the sliced mushrooms and chopped onion in the olive oil over medium heat. Once caramelized add in the remaining ingredients, leaving the flour for last. Stir constantly. Pour sauce over salisbury steak. Enjoy!
