Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ C. medium pasta shells
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • 2 tbs. flour
  • ¾ tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 C. whole milk
  • 1 C. Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 C. cooked peas florets
  • 2 (6 oz.) cans tuna, drained

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and prepare a 2-quart casserole dish.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in pasta and cook following package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Warm butter over low heat in a 1 ½-quart saucepan. Mix in flour and salt. Increase heat to medium. Stir and cook until mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat. Slowly pour in milk and stir well. Stir and bring mixture to a boil. Mix in pasta shells, peas and tuna. Stir until ingredients are well blended. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish.

Bake for 25 minutes or until casserole is heated through. Allow casserole to cool before serving.
