  • 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 C. lukewarm water
  • 1 C. lukewarm milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/4 C. sugar
  • 4 C. flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • melted butter, for drizzling

Mix the yeast and lukewarm water in a stand mixer and let sit for 10 minutes. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and sugar. Stir it well and slowly add 1 1/2 cups of flour. Add the egg and salt until incorporated. Run the mixer on medium while adding the rest of the flour. Mix for 5 minutes until smooth. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes. Place it in a bowl and cover. Let the dough rise for 1 hour. Punch the dough down and roll into a square. Cut the dough into squares and place them on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise another 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Drizzle with melted butter and serve.
