The Best Greek Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 C. corn oil
- 1 C. chopped pecans
- 3 Tbs. baking powder
- 6 C. flour
- 6 eggs
- 2 C. sugar
- 1 cordial glass whiskey
- granulated sugar
- cinnamon
Directions
Beat corn oil and sugar together for about 20 minutes. Add eggs and continue beating. Add nuts. Sift flour and baking powder together, then add to corn oil, sugar and egg mixture. Add whiskey.
Shape into rolls about 9 inches long and about an inch in diameter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Place several rolls on cookie sheet, depending on size of sheet. Bake in oven at 400 degrees until light brown, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cut immediately into 1/2-inch slices and place flat (on sides) on cookie sheet. Return to over and broil each side of a slice as you would toast. Remove and sprinkle a little granulated sugar and a little cinnamon for flavor.
