Nothing beats a simple hamburger on a warm summer evening. Whether its at a BBQ, restaurant or even in your own kitchen, this delicious sandwich is always a favorite. This simple recipe will make you want a juicy burger every night!

  • 1 small onion (finely grated)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 1⁄2 tsp pepper
  • 1 lb medium ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • lettuce and tomatoes for garnish.

Combine meat, onion, garlic and egg in a medium sized bowl. Divide the meat into 4 equal portions. Form each portion loosely into a 3/4-inch-thick burger and season both sides of each burger with salt and pepper. Place each patty in the center of a precut piece of aluminum foil, and tightly seal the sides and ends, forming a packet.

Heat a gas grill to high.
Grill the packets for 4-5 minutes on either side, for a well done burger let cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve with tomatoes and lettuce.
