Toasted Marshmallow Brownies

All the flavor of a freshly made s'more, but without all the sticky mess.

  • 1 C. sifted flour
  • 1/2 C. baking cocoa
  • 1 C. butter or regular margarine
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. chopped walnuts
  • 2 C. miniature marshmallows
  • 3/4 C. semisweet chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a 13x 9 inch baking dish. Sift together flour and baking cocoa. Set aside. Cream together butter and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy, using an electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients and walnuts. Spread mixture in prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with marshmallows and chocolate pieces. Bake for 55 minutes or until done. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into 2 inch squares.

Yield: 24 brownies
