  • 8 C. Granny Smith apples, cored and diced
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ C. sugar, divided
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon, divided
  • 1 ½ C. flour, divided
  • 1 C. old fashioned oats
  • 2/3 C. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ sticks butter, cold and diced

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine lemon juice, vanilla, 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and ½ cup of flour. Add diced apples and evenly coat; set aside. Prepare the crumble by combining 1 cup of flour, oats, brown sugar, ½ cup of sugar, salt, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Add in butter (it is okay to use your fingers!) until mix is combined and crumbly. Spread apple mixture into a baking dish and top with crumble. Bake for 45 minutes and serve hot!
