Tofu Burgers
Ingredients
- ½ C. quick oats
- one 16-oz. tub soft tofu, crumbled
- ½ C. wheat germ or oat bran
- 2 Tbs. grated onion
- ¼ C. ketchup
- 2 Tbs. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. all-purpose seasoning
- 1 tsp. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbs. ground flaxseeds
- freshly ground pepper to taste
- olive oil
Directions
Place oats in a bowl and cover with ½ cup boiling water. Let stand 5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients except oil and stir together. Heat oil in a skillet or griddle. Ladle tofu mixture onto skillet by the 1/3 cupful and flatten. Cook the patties on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
