These spicy black bean burgers are great for vegetarian sandwiches! Load these with some avocado, tomatoes and onions, and you have the perfect meat-free burger!

  • ½ cup prepared salsa
  • 2 15 ounce cans black beans, rinsed
  • 1 cup well-crushed tortilla chips
  • ½ cup diced white onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pretzel buns
  • 2 avocadoes
  • ½ tomato, sliced
  • ½ red onion, sliced
  • Ketchup and mustard to taste

Preheat the oven to 375F. Grease a baking sheet.
Smash the black beans with a fork until they are mostly mashed before stirring in the onion, salsa, chips, garlic powder, onion powder and salt and pepper.
Separate the mixture into four equal portions and form into the shape of burger patties.
Bake the burgers for 20 minutes before flipping and cooking for another 20 minutes, until both sides are golden and crispy.
Slice the avocadoes and lay out on the bottom buns of your four sandwiches. Top with the burgers before adding the tomato slices, onion slices, and ketchup and mustard.
Serve and enjoy!
