Ingredients

  • Meatballs:
  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 C. Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbs. Romano-Parmesan, grated
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • Sauce:
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 Tbs. garlic, minced
  • 2 (14-5-oz.) cans tomatoes, diced
  • 5 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6-oz.) can tomato puree
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper, crushed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all meatball ingredients. Make 1-inch meatballs. Place meatballs on a cookie sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. While meatballs bake, pour all sauce ingredients in slow cooker. Stir well. Drain and add meat balls to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Serve over pasta of your choice and garnish with cheese.
