  • 1/2 C. butter, softened
  • 1/2 C. shortening
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/4 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • additional sugar

Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a baking sheet. In a large bowl, combine butter, shortening, and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Slowly add dry mixture into wet mixture. Mix until creamed. Roll into one-inch balls and dip in sugar. Place cookies on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
