  • 5 Tbs. butter, softened (unsalted)
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 C. whole milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 container vanilla frosting
  • 2 T. sprinkles
  • food coloring of choice, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a doughnut pan. In a mixer combine butter, sugar, egg, 1/2 cup milk, and vanilla extract. The dough should look lumpy. Add salt and baking powder. Slowly add the flour. Continue mixing until combined. Fill the tins halfway with batter. Bake for 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Mix frosting with food coloring if desired. Top doughnuts with frosting and sprinkles.
