Vegan Grilled Cheese Strips
Serving Size / Yield
- 4 slices light wheat bread
- 2 slices non-dairy rice or soy cheese
- 1 Tbs. non-hydrogenated margarine like Smart Balance
Lightly coat outsides of both sandwiches with margarine. Place one slice of cheese in between the bread. Using a skillet and medium heat, cook sandwiches on the buttered sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes each. Then cut sandwiches into four or five long, narrow strips to dip in soups.
Note: Goes especially well with pureed and tomato-based soups.
