These are definitely not your ordinary cinnamon rolls. These decadent rolls are vegan friendly and the orange juice adds amazing flavor.

Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 4 C. flour
  • 1 Tbs. baking powder
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 8 Tbs. vegan butter, melted
  • 1 C. almond milk
  • 1/3 C. orange juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Filling:
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbs. vegan butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • vanilla extract
  • Topping:
  • 3 Tbs. vegan butter, melted
  • 3 Tbs. brown sugar
  • Orange Frosting:
  • 8 oz. vegan cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 C. powdered sugar
  • 1/3 C. orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp. orange zest
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 2 Tbs. vegan butter, softened

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    Combine the dry ingredients for the dough.

  2. Add the liquids and work into a dough ball.

  3. On a floured surface, roll out dough to a loose rectangle shape. About 1″ thick.

  4. Brush the melted butter over the dough. And a few drops of vanilla the sprinkle with cinnamon.

  5. Evenly distribute the brown sugar on top.

  6. Roll the dough up from one end until a tight spiral inside a long tube is reached.

  7. Slice into rolls. About 1 1/2″ thick.

  8. Place the rolls in a greased 9" baking dish.
    Add the topping layer over top the rolls.

  9. Bake for 30 minutes.

  10. Blend frosting ingredients with hand mixer. Chill until ready to use or frost rolls after they have cooled.
